Why do we study ocean waves
We study waves so we can better predict when a hurricane or tsunami hits. If we can predict when a hurricane is going to hit there could be a lot of people saved. There would be less deaths. They could give a warning for a tsunami sooner. Which would then allow people to evacuate their houses earlier. Also there would be less damage caused by the hurricane or tsunami.

Coral Reef
Cleaner Shrimp & Moray eel
The cleaner shrimp cleans other parasites off other organisms. Moray eels are a part of the eel family. Both the Moray eel and the Cleaner shrimp benefit each other. The cleaner shrimp cleans parasites off the Moray eel. And the Moray eel provides food and shelter for the cleaner shrimp.

The Deep
Gulper eels are deep sea creatures that are found in aphotic part of the ocean. These fish are found at all kinds of depths. Sometimes they travel to the surface if they can not find food in their natural habitat. I think Gulper eels are cool because they look like other eels. Most Gulper eels are blackish or dark green in color. Another awesome thing about Gulper eels is that most of them live their entire life in complete darkness, and can eat thing more than twice the size of them.
Angel sharks are animals that live in the Disphotic zone. Which is the middle zone of the ocean. The Angel shark has a blunt mouth. They have Fins that look like wings, which gave them their name. Their skin is a brownish grey with brown spots. They will pretty much eat anything, but they prefer squid.
The fish I picked to do for the Euphotic is the blue fish tuna. The Blue fish tuna is cool because of its dark blue top half, and its light blue lower half. It also has a yellow fin. The blue fin tuna average lives is 40 years!

Seasonal Seas
Seasonal Seas talks about how animals have to adapat to the different seasons in the temperate seas. It also talks about the food chain that keeps the seas runing smooth. There during spring plankton blooms, which is used for food for copepods. Which then becomes the prey for jellyfish. Around summer time pacific salmon heads inshore to breed. While swimming there most getting eaten by salmon sharks. During the fall pacific white sided dolphins seek shelter from the cold weather, but get hunted by the orca.

Plate Tectonics
Plate tectonics describes the movement of the Earths lithosphere. Which relates to the theory of continental drift. The upper part of the lithosphere is called the crust, and the bottom part is called the mantle. There are three types of plate tectonics. One is called divergent which is were the earths crust pulls apart. When this happens in the ocean it forms a mid ocean ridge. Convergent is where the earth comes together. If this happens in the ocean it will form a trench, and if it happens on earth it will form mountains. The third type of plate tectonic is called transform, and its where the earths crust slides past each other.
Frozen Seas
When I watched the Frozen Seas video I learned a lot of neat information on polar bears. The polar bear lives in the arctic circle. Its very hard to get find food for themselves let alone when the polar bear has a young cub to feed also. The polar bear looks for seals under the snow, or they'll try to catch a buluga whale in the water. After getting out of the water the polar bear has to rub his fur in the snow in order to stay warm. However, if the polar bear canot find food for her young the cub will soon die.

Ocean Movie
My favorite animal in the movie would be the sail fish. The sail fish is one of the fastest fish in the ocean! It has like a sail on its back. When it attacks it like puts its sail down to swim faster. It's absolutely beautiful. It has a extravagant fin that makes it so fast!
